Medical Malpractice - Half-Million Dollar Settlement Before Trial.  Injury: Wrongful death.  Negligent failure of defendant doctor to discover improper placement of catheter inserted near patient's heart, resulting in massive internal blood loss and death of patient.

 

Medical Malpractice - Jury Verdict, $650,000 Recovery After Appeal.  Injury: Wrongful death.  Retired grandmother.  Negligent failure of defendant doctor to properly monitor and react to patient's vital signs during dialysis treatment. (Upheld on appeal).

 

Medical Malpractice - One and Three-Quarters Million Dollar Recovery At Binding Arbitration.  Injury: Deformed and shortened penis; permanent deprivation of ability to experience natural erections.  35-year old single man.  Defendant doctor improperly recommended and negligently performed unnecessary surgical implantation of penile prosthesis.   

 

Medical Malpractice - Half-Million Dollar Plus Settlement Before Trial.   Injury: Wrongful death.  Newborn baby.  Negligent failure of defendant doctors to induce delivery of past-due expectant mother, resulting in death of newborn.

 

Fraud - Half-Million Dollar Plus Settlement During Trial.

 

Auto Wreck/Intoxicated Driver - Multi-Million Dollar Settlement Before Trial.  Injury: Wrongful death.  Unmarried teenage mother of three killed by speeding auto as she crossed street in residential neighborhood.

 

Negligent Inspection/Supervision - $400,000 Recovery Before Trial.  Injury: Serious head injury.  Mechanic hurt while repairing vehicle with improper tool recommended by salesman of parts company.

 

Greyhound Bus/Auto Wreck - $375,000 Jury Verdict.  Injury: Soft tissue neck injuries requiring no surgical treatment. 33-year old flight attendant. (No appeal).

 

Commercial Real Estate - Two and One-Quarter Million Dollar Jury Verdict, with finding by Jury that deed encumbering Atlanta area shopping center was void as a Fraudulent Conveyance.  (Upheld on appeal).

 

Commercial Real Estate - Five and One-Half Million Dollar Judgment On Contested Motions.  (Upheld on appeal).

 

Public Interest/Equity - Permanent injunction granted.  The successful prosecution of this case in Fulton Superior Court brought an end to all construction on the proposed limited access Presidential Parkway, which, if completed, would have destroyed many Atlanta and DeKalb County parks, schools, historic neigborhoods, and caused irreparable damage to the Fernbank Science Center; the $22 Million road contract  let by DOT on this project was declared void and against public policy; the case was prosecuted on behalf of citizens and residents of affected neighborhoods.  (Upheld on appeal).

 

Public Interest/Equity - Permanent injunction granted.   The DeKalb Superior Court voided and set aside as unlawful an attempt by the State Merit System to demote without notice over 6,000 State Merit System employees; the state court class action was prosecuted on behalf of all 55,000 State Merit System employees.  (No appeal).

 

Public Interest/Equity - Permanent injunction granted.  The DeKalb Superior Court permanently enjoined the construction of a proposed crematory being constructed in the middle of a poor black residential neighborhood in the city of Stone Mountain, Georgia; the actions by owners of the local funeral home were declared unlawful and in violation of state health regulations; the case was prosecuted on behalf of citizens and residents of affected neighborhood.  (No appeal). 

 

Public Interest/Equity - Permanent injunction granted.  The DeKalb Superior Court declared long-term multi-million dollar contract awarded by county commission for the development and operation of a huge waste landfill in south DeKalb County null and void, and in violation of the Code of DeKalb County and state laws.  (No appeal).
