Public Interest/Equity - Permanent injunction granted. The successful prosecution of this case in Fulton Superior Court brought an end to all construction on the proposed limited access Presidential Parkway, which, if completed, would have destroyed many Atlanta and DeKalb County parks, schools, historic neigborhoods, and caused irreparable damage to the Fernbank Science Center; the $22 Million road contract let by DOT on this project was declared void and against public policy; the case was prosecuted on behalf of citizens and residents of affected neighborhoods. (Upheld on appeal).
Public Interest/Equity - Permanent injunction granted. The DeKalb Superior Court voided and set aside as unlawful an attempt by the State Merit System to demote without notice over 6,000 State Merit System employees; the state court class action was prosecuted on behalf of all 55,000 State Merit System employees. (No appeal).
Public Interest/Equity - Permanent injunction granted. The DeKalb Superior Court permanently enjoined the construction of a proposed crematory being constructed in the middle of a poor black residential neighborhood in the city of Stone Mountain, Georgia; the actions by owners of the local funeral home were declared unlawful and in violation of state health regulations; the case was prosecuted on behalf of citizens and residents of affected neighborhood. (No appeal).
Public Interest/Equity - Permanent injunction granted. The DeKalb Superior Court declared long-term multi-million dollar contract awarded by county commission for the development and operation of a huge waste landfill in south DeKalb County null and void, and in violation of the Code of DeKalb County and state laws. (No appeal).
